Open employment means that you are employed in the mainstream workforce. Our Disability Employment Services (DES) program is federally funded and is not an NDIS support. We are a specialist Disability Employment Service provider who work with people who have a developmental or intellectual disability and have been recognised nationally for our service.
Supported Employment means you are employed in a Barkuma owned business. This type of employment support is NDIS funded. Working in this environment is a great way to develop your skills, confidence and experience, all while earning a wage.
We can provide one-on-one support to anyone receiving support for finding and keeping a job and are experiencing difficulties. Our fully qualified and experienced workers are able to respond to individual needs in a caring and professional manner.
School Leaver Employment Supports or SLES is an NDIS support to assist you in gaining the skills and confidence to move from school to work. We can provide up to 24 months of tailored support to suit you.
